"place back!"

When you were a kid and got up from your chair did you yell "place back" or a version of it so a sibling wouldn't take your place.  Well, no need for that because we are going to make place cards.

I started making place cards probably when I started writing.  I wonder now if my mom had me making them so she could get her meal prepared.  It is a great task for kids to keep them busy and help them feel a part of the preparations.

I made 2 versions, both very simple.  The larger one has a card on the inside for each person to write something they are thankful for.  I found in my research that a lot of families do this and then share around the table.  It would also be fun to save a couple and put them in a scrapbook.  Wouldn't it be fun to know what you would have said when you were a kid?
