"Late" is the theme of the day

The day started with my son waking up "late"-too late for first period. My day will end with a freshman Cheer Team sleepover, so we will be up" late".  And my card for the day is being sent late.  Does belated make it sound better?

So today is my husband's grandmother's birthday.  Grandma Steele is 99 today and still plays golf, still lives alone and has a wonderful spirit about her.  Grandma loves to get mail-so our plan was for each of the 5 of us to send a card to her.  And we will, but they are all late.

This card was made with one of this year's "In colors", Mint Macaron.  I love this color!  So this card was quick and simple, the best kind!  I dipped a sponge dauber into the coordinating mint ink and made a backdrop of polka dots.  The oval was cut with the oval thinlits on the Bigshot and stamped with mint.  And then I topped it off with Very Vanilla ribbon.  This is probably one of the quickest cards I  have made, but also one of my favorites.

I added a few polka dots to the envelope to give it a festive look.  I'm not sure how the post office feels about it-I hope it makes them smile!
